For those that plan to work the 2021 Illinois State Fair I have some information and requirements to pass along.
The Department of Agriculture has notified us that we will need to ensure all our employees performing services on the Fairgrounds are fully vaccinated with an FDA-approved COVID-19 vaccination. This is an amendment to our current State Fair contract. Here is the definition of fully vaccinated per the Dept of Ag.
The supergroup which features Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductees Sammy Hagar and Michael Anthony, along with drummer Jason Bonham and guitarist Vic Johnson replaces Staind, which was previously scheduled to perform Aug. 12, on the opening day of the fair. Last month, the rock band canceled its scheduled performance citing a scheduling conflict.
Hagar, who is known as “The Red Rocker,” was the lead singer of Van Halen after a solo career that included his 1984 hit I Can t Drive 55.”
Formed in 2014, The Circle is his latest group. In addition to Van Halen, Hagar was previously part of the hard rock band Montrose and hard rock supergroup Chickenfoot.

Tickets for Sammy Hagar & The Circle will go on sale Saturday, May 22 at 10am on www.ticketmaster.com.
Hagar has set the tone for some of the greatest rock anthems ever written with songs like “I Can’t Drive 55,” “Right Now,” and “Why Can’t This Be Love.”
In addition to Sammy Hagar & The Circle joining the Illinois Lottery Grandstand lineup, Dorothy and Dead Poet Society have been announced as opening acts for Badflower on August 19.
The Illinois State Fair also announced Kelsea Ballerini has canceled her stop at the Illinois State Fair. Ballerini was scheduled to perform with Kylie Morgan and Chapel Heart on Friday August 20. Customers who purchased Kelsea Ballerini tickets directly through www.Ticketmaster.com or through the Ticketmaster mobile app, will receive an automatic refund back to the card used to purchase the tickets.

A rock and roll supergroup has been booked to fill the opening night vacancy at the Illinois State Fair Grandstand.
After rock band Staind pulled out last month, fair officials have now booked Sammy Hagar and the Circle to perform on Thursday, August 12
th. The group features Hagar and his former Van Halen bandmate Michael Anthony, along with drummer Jason Bonham, the son of late Led Zeppelin drummer John Bonham. Tickets for the show go on sale Saturday, May 22
nd through Ticketmaster. Meanwhile, country singer Kelsea Ballerini has canceled her planned August 20
th appearance at the Grandstand. Refunds for tickets purchased for that show are available through Ticketmaster.
